Spring Break

I think the whole point of Spring Break is to give you a taste of what you’re in for this summer. I love my kids. And I love hanging out with them. Sometimes, though, it can be a hassle to do anything besides play. Running errands because pretty difficult. As does keeping the house anywhere near clean. So summer is good and bad. And so is spring break.

No plans. My husband is an accountant. And although he doesn’t do anything tax-related, he’s still swamped at work and this just isn’t a good time for a vacation. So…it’s just us. Me and the kids. All week.

(BTW…I know "me and the kids is improper grammer, but I really don’t care. I talk that way. Even if it’s wrong. I like it.) :)

I find we get very lazy. VERY LAZY. So I need to make some plans. One plan is to organize their toys. Purge. I have laundry-folding planned in the very near future. Other than that, the week is pretty wide open. Any ideas? What are your plans for spring break?

my non-tax doing accountant hubby is too busy at work to take a vacation too. So it’s just me and the kids too. We’re going to try and go to the zoo. Aren’t you jealous? I’ll just bet you are :)

    what about a children’s museum?
or a hotel with a pool overnight?
if it’s nice and you live somewhere warm? how about a children’s art fair?
let them create art outside and then sell it along with lemonade?
    a movie?
a popcorn and movie theatre day at home?
friends over…we did an “undernighter” with friends over spring break, where they come over in jammies watch movies and play til 10 pm. or so!
    have fuN!

so wait…what is this “folding of the laundry” you speak of? Am I missing something by just shoving it into the corners of their respective rooms? I mean, I have hampers…would it be better shoved in there? Folding…off to dictionary.com right now…

we just wrapped up our spring break. a friend and I took our kids up the science center for the day….it was fun. How about getting some mom’s and kid together for a picnic somewhere fun.

the other highlight of our spring break was a girls night out on wednesday. we left the kiddos at home with our husbands and went out to dinner. It was fun and gave me the recharge I needed to finish the week out. lol

Is your spring break this week (10-14) or next week (17-21)? Because if it is next week, you should come over to my house as I will have 2 small bored children too. The older one will be in Washington DC, Boston, and NYC for the whole week.

There is also the Jungle, or any other indoor fast food playplace, or take them all over to Memories and see how long the last there…just kidding. Good luck and email me if you want to get together!

Hey-I understand, I’ve heard this from other Mothers! Right now our neighborhood streets are FILLED with kids on break. Since mine doesn’t go to school yet…this is a good thing for us. All the other big kids keep him SO entertained outside everyday! As for our plans, my hubby and I are taking off to El Salvador for a few days. Not for vacation, but it is still a getaway none the less!

    Hey lady!

Just saw your post on my blog! Thanks for the well wishes and I wanted to say “CONGRATULATIONS” on your site. Me thinks we have the same one. And too weird on the gallery names. I had one down that was identical. But I will change it. I had the same concept I guess. That makes me proud… to think like you I mean! :)
Your images are amazing and I am so proud of you for doing this. You will be a huge hit. Glad I have someone I know to take the journey with! Are you psyched?

I am still creating the site. Trying to find time around all the chaos of life. Now that is real easy. Ya, ummm.

I will be checking in on you lady. Take care and go get’em.

trying to add some sunshine, cuz i know how long a spring break with the kids is …

“me and the kids” is actually the proper way of saying it. if each subject were to stand alone in the sentence, it should sound correct. ie “it’s just me all week” and “it’s just the kids all week.” see? both sound correct.

there. grammar lesson for the week. don’t second-guess yourself! from your friendly scrappy internet editor/lurker. ;o)

sounds like we are having the same kind of break. there is a big pile of laundry in the family room just waiting for amazing race tonight to be folded. it’s been raining off and on here and so far today we have managed to do some paper mache arting and a dentist visit. woohoo! i too think of spring break as training wheels for summer. i’m scared that i may not survive.
