All that talk about triathalons made me want to do one. And I found one that is perfect for me. It’s for girls only. And it’s sprint distance, which means it’s short.
The run is only 3.2 miles. Not that I can run 3.2 miles at this point (then WHY AM I SIGNING UP FOR THIS?!) but I will be able to by then. I hope. And if not, I’ll walk. And either way, I probably won’t die. Right? right? right?
I need stuff like this to help motivate me. Before I moved to Cali, I would train for small races. It helped get me out to door. I never won anything, but it’s like when you’re a kid and everyone that plays gets a little trophy…they give t-shirts at these. Better than trophies because you can wear them around. And nobody knows that you were basically crawling across the finish line and throwing up at the end. It’s a total A-for-effort kind of thing. And I need an A. In something. Anything. It just helps. Makes me feel good. Hopefully it will get me moving and if I’m really lucky, I can drop a couple pounds in the process. So wish me luck. I’m really going to need it.

Yeah. I’m glad you decided to do it.
Yowzas…
Seriously, signing up is the first step.
It’s all downhill from here (race-wise, that is).
You can do it Shannon! So cool. =) I’ve been thinking about entering one myself. I’m doing between 2.5 and 3 miles on my treadmill every day, but I’m not running the entire time, I have to still take walking breaks or else I may just collapse and die! I’m rooting for you girl!!!
wow! that sounds amazing! you go girl : ) for years I ran (was on hs cx team), and am starting to get back into it…

Shannon, good for you. I wish I could do it with you! I know deep down that I am going to be the very last Caldwell girl to do a triathlon. It haunts me every day (but not enough to get me to actually sign up for one):)
Anyway, good luck–I’m sure you’ll do great!
