Thanks!

IDog‘ve gotten lots of good advice. For and against a doggy. :)
And a baby. :)
Either way, to even consider one or the other IS pretty crazy, I know.
IF we get a dog, eventually, we really have fallen in love with Border Terriers. They are SO cute. Sophie is a major reason for even considering this. The girl loves animals. And when she sees this picture we found online, she can barely contain herself. (I must admit, it even makes me- a previously declared non-pet person, pretty warm and happy inside.) I think my grandma might’ve had a dog like this. Mom? Was this Taffy? Could be part of the reason I’m loving that dog.

So we’ll see. Not going to make any rash decisions.

Right now, the goal is just to survive the summer. I’ve been so lazy… Our little system has gotten off track. We’re spending lots of time around the house. Just kickin’ it. Sometimes I feel bad. But then again, isn’t that what summer is for? Kicking back, relaxing, taking a break from the normal stress of life? If that’s the case, I’m ROCKING the summer.

    Don’t do it.
    Be strong.
And relax some more — we all know it’ll be over too soon. :)

ooooh I LOVE Border Terriers! MY FIL has one, his name is Max and he is the sweetest thing ever! Such a loving little pup. The only thing to be careful with is that they require a lot of grooming with these special combs so that they stay looking like the one in the picture you posted. They are the sweetest dogs though and a good choice I think :)

Shannon, I think that WE actually had a dog like that. Her name was Fritz. Remember? Geez, where did you get that old family photo? Granted, Fritz was much more scruffy looking, but that pic might have been right after one of her shaking-on-the-table haircuts. LOL!! I would love it if you guys bought a Fritzie.

Cute dog. I agree with Layne–it looks more like Fritz than Taffy (aka Spike). Be prepared, Sophie will be out of high school and Franklin will be driving before you’re done with this puppy. Good luck.

I’m allergic to cats (like your dh) and therefore some dogs too. I found that I’m NOT allergic to dogs with “hair” like poodles, peeka-poos (part pek./part poo - lol…which is what we have). They don’t shed (yeah) and the hair is soft like a baby’s. More of my 2 cents: rescue a dog - but a calm, safe one - that is grown or you’ll wish you had another baby.

I’ll post a photo on my blog of our Spanky - utterly and deliciously cute. All white…yumma. And I agree, kids do so well with learning to take care of a pet. Good Luck
