ROCKS. While we really haven’t done much, swim lessons and errands, I’m really really loving spending my time with these punks:
They’re really cool. They’re all old enough now, that no one is napping, no one is wearing diapers, no one is crying for absolutely no reason. I’m hitting a really sweet spot in motherhood, where they all still love me, but don’t overwhelm me with their neediness. No homework, no schedules, no problem.
It’s her birthday today.
She made a goal a couple months ago to learn to ride her bike without training wheels before she turned five. And a few weeks ago, she did it. This picture is her on that day. I didn’t get any of her actually riding, I was too busy watching her!
This girl is awesome. She sparkles. Everyone that meets her says the same thing. She’s just a happy kid, she rarely complains. If I don’t keep her busy, she’ll make her own "fun", but she’s never bored. And she’s growing more freckles every day. Not that that has anything to do with her never being bored, it’s just a fact. And I love her little freckles. And she’s a great big sister/little sister.
In other news, I’ve actually committed to taking the trip to Utah. I’ll be there July 9-14. If anyone there wants to schedule a photo session, I’m planning to do a handful of sessions while I’m there. Just email me or leave me a comment if you’re interested.
since I posted any pictures of Piper. So…
Cute, little, scruffy, in need of some grooming, little thing.
Puppies are a lot of work. Not as much work as babies, but they don’t smell as good as babies, either. Still, somehow, despite her non-baby smell, we really enjoy having her around.
since I officially got the title of Mother, thanks to this chickadee.
{sigh}
It’s been quite a journey. I’m forever changed because of her. There is something special about a first child. She is amazing. I learn so much from her on a constant basis. It stinks to be her sometimes, having to break in the rookie parents, but we’re all trying our best. She’s a champ.
Love you, birthday girl.
Clean Slate Monday.
thank goodness.
First of all, Happy Birthday yesterday to this exceedingly handsome man!
He’s smiling in this picture. You can’t see it in his mouth, but you can in his eyes. He thinks I’m really funny. He’s gotten so tired of smiling all the time, that he’s simplified it and just does it with his eyes. Easier on the facial muscles. I don’t blame him. Smiling that much for so many years was really hard on him.
Tonight I’m going to take him on a date. I’m sure we will be eating a delicious dinner. That is always first on the list. Other than that? I don’t know… a movie, perhaps. Or bowling? Dunno. Whatever it is, I’m sure he will be exhausted after all the eyesmiles. We don’t get out often, so I’m really looking forward to it. I mean, WE’RE really looking forward to it. It is HIS birthday, after all.
Glad to be starting a new week. Sorry to leave the dumb migraine post up for so long. But it was a down week for me, and I didn’t really feel like posting about it. No particular reason to be down, and I’m ok now, so mom… really, I’m fine… It was just one of those weeks were I didn’t feel up to the task of being myself. Too tired to deal with my life, trapped under a pile of chores that I didn’t have the energy to face. And then, the guilt.. because it always comes with feeling bad…that’s the worst part. But Dave stayed up until midnight last night, on his birthday, helping me with something that was stressing me out. That act of service gave me the fuel I needed to attack the rest of the pile, and I’m confident that this week will be the opposite of last week.
Here’s to clean slates and handsome men and birthdays!!
