a special family, a beautiful newborn

They have a son the same age as Franklin. They live just down the street. At 4 months, he got a terrible brain infection out of nowhere. Sometimes they were afraid he would die. Sometimes they hoped he would die. It was an awful roller coaster that they’re *still* riding. It’s left him unable to speak or sit up or swallow. The fact that my perfectly healthy little boy is the same age as theirs really drives it home for me.
