Wow. What a crazy month it’s been. It’s felt almost like I put my life on hold for a while and just took a deep breath and looked around. You know that pause button you always wish you could push? It feels like July did that for me. Between two vacations and the week inbetween where the internet and satellite were down, I haven’t been constantly "connected" like I’m used to. No blogs, no message boards, no email, no tv, no grocery shopping (ok, a little of that), no vacuums and kitchens and smelly bathrooms (ok, some of that too, but just less than normal)…
Ahhh…. heaven. It all seems like a dream. One whose details are going to fade quickly, since I didn’t even bother to get out the camera more than a handful of times. But that’s ok. I like it that I just savored the moments rather than stressing about saving them.
I’ve thought a lot about things, made new goals, made new plans, gotten new perspectives. I feel refreshed and energized and ready to start ROCKING my life.
I was almost afraid to turn on the computer this morning, afraid I’d get sucked back into whatever I found to be so important on this screen before I left.
So, the blog has been neglected again. Fact is, the days seem to run together and I don’t feel like I have a lot to say right now. I am kind of enjoying feeling like I’m in a little cocoon, sheltered from the world with my kids and my books. Only my kids are playing outside most of the time, so it’s a nice, quiet cocoon. I love summer. I know it’s just a matter of time before that cocoon feels like a straight jacket, so I’ll just enjoy it while I can.
I’m leaving tomorrow for my ultra-fun 12 hour drive to Utah. It should be awesome. Robbers and thieves beware, Dave is still home and he sleeps with a bb-gun under the bed. If that doesn’t scare you, I don’t know what will. So, even though I’m gone, my house will be safe and protected. As will my husband.
I have one opening left for a Utah session, if anyone wants it. I’ll be checking email while I’m gone, so drop me a line if you’re interested.
Finally, because it just seems wrong to leave without posting a picture, here are some favorites from a recent session.

I must sincerely apologize to the Sierra for kicking her ball over the fence. It was an accident, but I’m sure it ruined her day.
I call this last one "Holding Hands with God."
