My new toy

I’ve been writing things on my hand lately and joking with people that I was putting ______ (whatever we were discussing) on my Palm. I needed it. I forget a lot of things. So I got this: Well, one of these. Not all of them. But an iPhone. Pretty exciting. I’m looking at that picture...

elizabeth - tee hee. Those boots really are hideous. How exciting that you got an iPhone! Maybe one of these days… hey, how much do you all pay for piano lessons? We were going to start Maddie this year but had to postpone because we couldn’t find a single teacher charging less than $30/half hour here. I know it’s been some time since I was taking/teaching lessons myself, but that seems out of control to me. Do I just need to suck it up and start saving more money for lessons?

December 7, 2007 - 7:34 am

Hilary - That heel is hurting me just looking at it.
AN iPHONE?
Let’s do lunch.
Can you pencil me in?

December 7, 2007 - 7:37 am

Lindsay - One of my design teachers in college used to say, “If only people with money had taste and people with taste had money.”

So true.

December 7, 2007 - 9:28 am

Jill - Ok, I about cried I was laughing so hard!

December 7, 2007 - 9:30 am

Amy F - Haha! Shannon, you crack me up. Your description of the boots was right on. If you take off the boot part, though, it’s a pretty cute shoe. What a shame!

And I’m beyond jealous that you got an iPhone.

December 7, 2007 - 12:21 pm

Tina - Those are some seriously fugly boots. I’d pay $750 to watch a pair burn.

Love your new phone. I’m hoping Santa brings me one this year.

December 7, 2007 - 1:05 pm

Joanna - hahahaha! An iphone is on my list when our current contract expires! Yay for you!!

December 7, 2007 - 2:51 pm

melia - you are too funny-love the story about the boots and they are UGLY! i love bejeweled too :)

December 7, 2007 - 2:57 pm

Julie - you crack me up shannon!

December 8, 2007 - 7:53 pm

kristen - Shannon, YOU ARE FREAKIN’ HILARIOUS!!! I loooooooooved your description of the purple veiny legs, yuck, but I could totally see it! You seriously CRACK me up! I bet you keep Dave rollin’! If not, then what’s the matter with him???? :0)

December 9, 2007 - 8:58 pm

Laurissa - I guess I’ll send my boots back . . .

December 9, 2007 - 10:57 pm

Brenda Miles - Don’t make fun of us cankleites. We have feelings too. I’ll never understand people. There’s some inspiration depleted designer somewhere who’s in serious denial.

Oops!

Missed a day… but I had good reasons I swear. Yesterday I hit an all-time high of Franklin mischief. First of all, the boy can climb like crazy. At three years old, on his own, he can climb up the fridge and get things stored in the cupboards above. Nothing is out of his reach....

Deena - What a beautiful picture…and a horrendous day. Look at the bright side. What an amazingly funny story you have now. That’s definitely one to tell over and over.

December 4, 2007 - 11:34 am

Hilary - O.M.G.
I’d die.
I’d just die.

December 4, 2007 - 11:14 pm

Brenda Miles - Umm, what can I say? You’re in good company? You need a good book and some quiet time after a day like that. Rest well, Shannon.

December 5, 2007 - 5:57 am

Julie - Shannon, I’m mailing you some chocolate and a good book and some Calgon. :)

I’m so glad Piper is okay.

December 5, 2007 - 6:22 am

kimberly lough - Okay, you can’t post about that without pictures! A half-eaten, syrup laden couch is so picture worthy! :)

December 5, 2007 - 7:43 am

Mindy - Sorry, Shannon. I hate days like that. Some days just seem jinxed–one catastrophe just isn’t enough.
Franklin does look awfully stinkin’ cute–what a forgivable face.

December 5, 2007 - 7:48 am

Lindsay - Franklin, rebel without a cause.

December 5, 2007 - 11:05 am

laurissa - I know what you mean about wanting to throw away the couch . . . but I’m glad you didn’t have to. Lugging a syrup-laden couch out to the curb would have been quite an adventure.

December 5, 2007 - 4:14 pm

jenniferL - that sounds like a nutty day! sorry i missed you at augie’s thing. i hope today was a better day.

December 5, 2007 - 8:56 pm

Tina - F-dawg is one cutie. Forgivable face, indeed.

December 5, 2007 - 10:21 pm

Kristen - Ha ha. Okay, sorry, I know you meant to post this as NOT a funny, but come on! Syrup on the couch! Your F-dawg is a freakin’ genius! I’d first turn a deep red, then perhaps kill the genuis, then die laughing at the ingenuity of the whole thing. I know you are asking yourself, what does syrup and couches have anything to do with smarts??? Well, it’s a smart thing MY KIDS DIDN’T THINK OF IT!

I wish you had gotten pictures. I like a story with pictures. Or even one of your awesome scrap pages, yes, that would suffice.

Sorry for the rough day! You are a better woman/mother for it! You know it!

December 6, 2007 - 6:11 pm

Joanna - what. a. stinker!!!!!!!!

December 9, 2007 - 11:03 pm

kent - Too funny! Wow – he has one upped Sophia in the mischief dept!

My Christmas present to Blogland…

I love taking pictures. I love capturing the connections between people. The whole thing makes me really happy. The biggest thing that bums me out is that I can’t capture my own family because I’m behind the camera. I also sometimes wish I didn’t have to charge for this, because I know a lot of...

Brenda Miles - You’re so cute!

December 3, 2007 - 12:34 am

Tina - I did something like this earlier this year. I called it Photolanthropy. The only problem for me was that when it came down to choosing the recipient, I couldn’t choose just one nominee. I ended up doing six. It was great, though. I’ll probably end up doing it again next year.

Enjoy and thanks for having such a big heart.

December 3, 2007 - 8:32 am

Jill - Oh I could just cry! My “recipient” and I live in Utah. Would you consider a winner in another state?

December 3, 2007 - 9:21 am

Hilary - Do you want to switch sessions? I could just do it on your memory card and then you’d be free to edit it to your liking…
Something to think about…

December 9, 2007 - 7:36 pm

Raimi - I would love to nominate my sister Amber for this sweet deal. She is having a hard time getting into the Christmas spirit this year. Her hubby decided it was time to remodel(rip some walls out & stuff like that) a few months back. He is a police officer & works many LONG shifts/days. He has not been able to complete what he has started. Mind you, when he needed to tear the walls out, all of the items(beds, dressers, toys, etc…) from the bedrooms were dumped into her family room. Now there is not any spcae for her Christmas tree. Amber loves Christmas & LOVES to decorate her house all cute. Just think, if she won the photo session, she could put all of her new AWESOME Shannon Montez photos all over those brand new walls(when hubby finishes them of course).
Merry Christmas to you & your family.

Raimi
P.S. She is in the Bay Area & her birthday is on the 14th of this month. It would be a win/win, happy birthday/Merry Christmas :) .

A very important day yesterday…

Andrea - Wow–it’s already been a year? Time flies in blog-land. It seems like you just had the ‘guess our dog’s name’ contest. Way to go for making it into the dog-toddler phase!

And I’m looking forward to your daily blogs. I wish I had that much to say! :)

December 2, 2007 - 9:26 pm

Brenda Miles - Scruffy puppies are the bomb.

December 3, 2007 - 5:43 am

Julie - Piper, you are the cutest! Happy Birthday! :)

December 9, 2007 - 11:02 pm

kent - Oh man- totally reminds me that I need to pick up the Piper pillow. It was the most popular style for my pillow class so I left it up at Suzy’s to sell more of the kits. Gotta get it to you soon! Happy Bday Piper! You have survived a lot in your first year – broken leg, overdosing on bad doggy but good people food – you’re tough!!

Calling all Caldwells!

Andrea - Too cool…but my mug isn’t there. I guess that’s what I get for missing out on all the fun all the time….

November 27, 2007 - 11:51 am

Hilary - Very cool page, did you have to clean the rust off your paper trimmer? :)

November 28, 2007 - 1:41 pm

Amy F - Wow! Congratulations, Shannon. It looks great.

November 28, 2007 - 11:01 pm

kristen - Seriously LOVE your page designs. I have missed them. (sniffle.)

November 28, 2007 - 11:43 pm

Brenda Miles - You should be ashamed! Taking all that talent and leaving poor saps like me with nothing but…well…nothing. You rock!

December 12, 2007 - 3:49 am

Heididawn - Yea! That is so cool shannon! I went out and bought 2 copies – going to send one to mom. You totally deserved a full page though! Congratulations!!
