Retiring.

I know I haven’t even hit 40 yet, but it’s time for me to retire and move along. We’ve sold our house and are moving in a few weeks. With everything that running a business takes, in addition to all that running a family takes (and while we’re at it, everything that just plain running...

erica - How exciting, Shannon! I LOVE Tahoe – so gorgeous. I wish I had digital files to buy from you because that would mean I had some awesome family portraits on my wall!

Elizabeth - Whoa! That’s big news. You were one of the first photographers I ever followed and have always loved your style : ) Where are you headed in the move?

Michelle Stott - I’m so happy for you!! Your photos were such a treasure for our family! You were like family when we had our sessions! Best of luck to you! You are such a talent! Michelle Stott

One More Mini.

Because of all this rain, not to mention the fact that it gets dark so stinking early, I had to reschedule some of the minis to December 1, a Saturday. If anyone was thinking of getting a mini session, but the previous dates didn’t work, here’s your chance! See previous post for the other details…...

EB Fundraiser

Some of you may remember our friend Michael. (previous posts here and here). And a few of the pics over the years: He is doing as well as can be expected when you live with pain and blisters every day… He is honestly one of the smartest kids I’ve ever met. He was reading well...

SoCal Ragnar

Earlier this year, some friends suggested we run a Ragnar race. It’s a 200+ mile relay race that you do with a group of 12 people in two vans over the course of 2 days. Each person is assigned three legs, of varying length and difficulty. Dave and I were both feeling chunky and unmotivated...

Linn - This is SO awesome Shannon! Except for the first run. And the sprinklers (but man, that made me laugh!). You have totally inspired me. A few hours ago, I signed up for a half marathon in September. Yeah, don’t even know what I am thinking, but a few days ago I said I would do it, so I must. But I’m scared. And yet, if it isn’t 110 degrees, I’ll just be thrilled with anything that happens. Way to go both of you!

Mikael - I’ve done Ragnar (Utah) Wasatch Back 3 times. Love…Love…Love it!!! Congrats on running a good race. Such good memories. So fun to read your blog.

Stefani Meyer - This is good to read as we will be doing our first Ragnar in Napa in the fall. We tried to get it together to do the same one as you, but as it happened we would be taking Kelsi back to school that very week. Congratulations on getting your groove on and making it a fun experience.

Tricia Montez - Hahaha! My favorite part is imagining Dave, blind, trying to hop away from sprinklers that are chasing him. Love it! Thanks for sharing your experience. This sounds like a lot of fun! Good job on running the most you’ve ever run in your life :)

Andrea - This is a great recap. Sounds like so much miserable fun, which is usually the best kind.

And one more thing…your legs are seriously white. That must mean mine are even worse. Yikes! ;)

Elizabeth - Wow. I don’t know if you know Amy Sorensen but she has blogged about doing a Ragnar (I thought it was just one race in UT) and her writing about it is pretty awesome, and scares me to death as a beginning runner, ha. Though I do run at night on base in the summer and it is by far my most favorite thing about running–stars, no sun, quiet… only worrying about getting swooped by bats or confronted by badgers : )

Elizabeth - p.s. all that to say CONGRATULATIONS!!! that’s awesome : )
