A Sneak Peek | Bay Area Family Photographer

Well, it’s 10:30 pm, the kids are asleep, the husband is snoring beside me on the couch, and I’m catching up on my Oprah while putting the finishing touches on a session who will be meeting with me tomorrow to see the images. What better time to post a quick sneak peek for them? :)

So… in some kind of record time for me between session and blogging it… here goes!

This sweet little missy was so happy and smiley, I really didn’t have to do anything to make her smile. I didn’t even have to work. Easy Peasy.

I really love this shot, how it shows that she’s in the adorable crawling stage, and how mom is cheering her on in the background.

This smile… we saw it a lot. So happy that smile takes up her whole face! Dad made her so happy, I loved their connection.

This shot… she’s actually on her dad’s back, upside down, and I’m shooting up at her. I think it’s funny that you can’t tell.

Dad is an avid gardener. I like that his human crop and his veggie crop are both represented in this shot.

In this shot, dad is holding her upside down and you can’t even tell. Oh, you can? Oh… yeah…

Happy happy family. Love it.

Mini Sessions, Past and Present… Part 2

And the fun continues… :)

I still have a few spots available for next Saturday’s mini’s. Downtown Campbell is so much fun because of the variety of looks in such a small area.

I really love the variety of footwear in this family.

May 15, 2010 - 9:03 pm kristen - i love that you stay busy with this. you have talent and i am so glad people recognize that! these pics are soooo great! the black and white of the little boy is awesome. love his eyes.

Beautiful Little Missy | San Jose Child Photographer

I’ve been shooting this sweet girl since before she was born. It’s just SO much fun to watch these kids grow! Watching other people’s kids grow and change is fun and doesn’t come with the tinge of sadness that happens when your own baby gets bigger. So, bonus.

Anyway… We had lots of fun.

Some Favorites | Bay Area Family Photography

I’ve showed you this great family before. I love them. They just can’t take a bad picture.

This cutie just makes me smile.

This shot… I just adore it. In the image right before this one, she was a little sad. But then she got the pacifier… look at the bliss!

Their kitchen is so warm and cozy and cute… I had to get a shot of them being together at the table.

Awesome Family | Bay Area Family Photography

I first met this little guy when he was less than two weeks old. Then again when he was crawling, and now he’s walking!

It’s so much fun for me to capture all theseĀ little accomplishments. They change and grow and learn so much in one year, it’s amazing.

I love the sky and water in this…

I love this multi-generational shot with the maternal grandparents. You can just see how adored this boy is!

Dad’s face melts me here. Total contentment.

This shot… anyone who has a toddler, tell me you don’t do this about 20 times a day!

Sweet Michael

If you’ve been following the blog for a few years, you know Michael. He’s the son of some friends of ours, and he suffers from a skin condition called EB. It’s seriously one of the crappiest diseases I’ve ever heard of… due to a lack of collagen in the skin, their skin is extremely fragile and can blister and tear by simply rubbing it. I found an article about it, and some of the hopeful treatments, here in the NY Times.

As hard as it is, their family has settled into the everyday. Heather has turned bandage changes into a science and can do it in a fraction of the time it used to take. Michael started preschool. The boy already knows all his letters and numbers and is starting to read, not sure what they can teach mr. mini-genius, but he’s making friends and loving it anyway! Heather got a part-time job. Ryan got a new job. It’s nice to see that besides the bandages, they are doing well! His third birthday was last fall… here are the images from his birthday session.

(some have been touched up a bit, so the focus is on his beautiful face rather than what blisters might have been on his face at the time)

The paper doll family was left over from his grandparents’ visit a couple days earlier. When Michael first saw it, he said it was a “a party!”

He’s a happy, delightful boy.

Headed out to his first day of preschool… a big moment!

Sweet adorable kids | San Jose Photography

This isn’t my first time capturing these two. It is so fun to watch them grow each year!

Don’t they have the most amazing eyes?

This is their new best friend. :) Love the head tilt. Dogs are so funny.

The session was held at their beautiful home. Last year, we were mostly inside. This year, we played outside for the most part.

Love!

February 9, 2010 - 8:00 am shelby - gorgeous pictures Shannon! I love your work!

Beautiful Family

A totally beautiful family in one of my favorite places…

I know I’ve said this before, but I really love my job! There is nothing more beautiful than people who love each other. And I’ve had the good fortunate of coming across some of the most amazing, loving people in the world.

This images speaks childhood. Happiness on the playground. Love.

Check out this sweet face!

Love this shot. I think it illustrates life so well. Each kid doing their own thing. Parents holding hands, in this crazy ride called life together…

Father and son. Totally acting like a father and son.

January 29, 2010 - 6:24 pm Kathi - so precious!!

Lovely lovely family (that I love)

I had SO much fun with these guys! They made me so comfortable from the first moment I met them and they just have an amazing little family. They were in the process of moving from San Jose, so we met at their home and shot around their neighborhood. I love that I gave them a fun souvenir for their time here in San Jose!

Just the kids…

Or the whole family… I can’t decide which one I love more.

The bubble. I love it! This sweetie made me so baby hungry it hurt! This age just melts me… so so happy and sweet and squishy.

The lashes… (I die…)

His brothers are just as cute, though!

January 27, 2010 - 10:42 am Andrea - What a darling family!

Photographing a Photographer

I got the opportunity to swap sessions with my delightful friend and fellow photographer, Alison Beachem of Photography by Alison.

SO FUN!! Not only did I have a great time shooting her family, I got the huge benefit of finally having amazing images of my own family! It made me realize what a COOL job I have, if my clients feel the way I did after viewing the images she took.

Alison has a terrific family. I think you can tell, just by viewing the images!

A quiet moment with the baby of the family…

I don’t even have to tell you they are from San Diego. Can’t you just see it in the blonde surfer perfection…

I think this might be the order of who runs the family…

My favorite shot of the day:

Thanks Alison, for letting me play and for the incredible gift you gave me!

January 21, 2010 - 4:04 pm Alison - Love Love Love them:) That last one is a beautiful canvas!
