Last fall, Dave and I went to Philadelphia to shoot a wedding (stay tuned!). We had SO much fun! It was our first trip away together since having the kids. Long overdue, I’d say.
While I was there, I took some maternity pictures for Tara, a good friend of my sister. We went to the Comcast Center, where the dad-to-be works. This building was CRAZY. It is the highest building in Philadelphia, only a few years old, totally state-of-the-art. We were up in the top, at the cafeteria up in the clouds. It was nuts. Really great light. Lots of fun. But Tara and Chuck were even more fun. We (with my sister) had dinner that night, and I found myself wishing that I lived near them so we could be BFFs and go out on weekends all the time. And that wasn’t just the Lobster Mac and Cheese talking.

These two are (ok, were, as this session is from a while ago and I’ve since done the baby session which can be seen here… eventually) expecting their first child. I love the excitement of soon-to-be first-time parents… They’re on the verge of something huge and while they *think* they have an idea of what they’re in for, they just don’t. In so many various ways.
I don’t often come to a session expecting to get a certain image, but lying in bed the morning before this session, remembering being pregnant, I suddenly wanted to capture this image:

I love the way these two interacted…

She owns a pet grooming business, Canine Concepts. I included their first baby in a bunch of the shots, but I think this one is my favorite…

If you’d like to see the entire session, you can view the slideshow right here.
